President's Corner

On behalf of all of the members of the Charles County branch of the NAACP, I am pleased to introduce you to our website. Within these pages, I trust that you will find the information you seek about our branch.

Our purpose is to support the goals of the NAACP in Charles County, Maryland by addressing issues pertinent to this location. The NAACP's principal objectives are to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality for all persons. The Charles County branch of the NAACP seeks to work with community leaders and administrators to remove all barriers of racial discrimination through the enforcement of federal, state and local laws securing civil rights and by informing the public of the adverse affects of discrimination against any person in the County.

The history of the Charles County branch is rooted in responding to the community's call for action. We are here today able to fulfill our mission because of the hard work and dedication of the pioneers and frontrunners who came before us. These front runners were people just like you and me who believed that a few people can make a difference.

I am proud of the work being done by the Charles County branch and I look forward to serving all of the people of the County to improve the way of life for all persons. I hope that you will join us by joining our branch and making a difference in our community.
